Mini Chucks – Hawreluik Racing Company

Hawreluik Racing company is a family owned and operated performance. They have attended CCA and MRCA rodeos and fairs throughout the Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and BC. They are the only professional miniature horse racing performance in Saskcatchewan with the option of two or three teams of four horses hitched up to the individual wagons which are about 1/4 scale of the big wagons seen at the Calgary Stampede.

The performance begins by having the teams parade around the rodeo arena before they head into the barrels as they wait for the sound of the starting horn. The horn blows, then the action begins. Just like the big wagons, they make a figure 8 pattern, racing rapidly around the arena, completing two laps and racing to the finish line. The louder the crowd cheers, the harder the ponies run!

Make sure you’re there to watch these awesome little show ponies run!

Mounted Shooting

Mounted shooting is the fastest growing equestrian sport in North America. It is a fast paced event that combines horsemanship with safe firearms handling and shooting skills. Similar to barrel racing with poles and cowboy shooting added. Two .45 calibre single action revolvers with special blank ammunition are used to shoot balloon targets while riding your horse through over 100 competition patterns. This is a timed event with penalties assessed for missed targets and overturned barrels.

Safety is first and foremost. Their special blank ammunition is filled with gunpowder only. No bullet or projectile. The gunpowder alone will break a balloon up to a distance of about 15 feet. After that not even a balloon will pop. Safe and very fun, both for competitors and spectators. The Manitoba Mounted Shooting Association is a member club of the Manitoba Horse Council.

Team Ropers

This is of great interest to anyone that would like to take up the sport of Team Roping or some great pointers for anyone that has been roping for awhile. With the aid of a mechanical cow “Hot Heels”. These experienced ropers will go through the maneuvers that will help put you and your horse in the correct position to make that winning run.
