Bob Kaufman

Bob has conducted colt starting and horsemanship clinics in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana, and has started over 1000 colts in his 37 years of ranching.    He continues to bring along a few young horses each year, and offers a couple for sale as they become dependable and more finished mounts. He has also placed at a number of working ranch horse competitions, and has judged the Trainer’s Challenge for the Mane Event in Red Deer, Alberta. Bob also brings a unique back ground of experience to his saddle making and leather craft business.

He began what has become a passion towards excellence in designing and constructing all types of leather work, with saddles being the most demanding item.  Bob is mostly self taught, but has been inspired by many traditional and highly respected saddle makers  in north America, as well as many others devoted in using leather to express an art form through home decor, and unique art such as framed pictures, day timers, belts, or usable related horse gear such as bridles and chaps. He enjoys making different and new items, and all his ideas come from everyday life working with livestock, viewing the panorama of grassland where he works, and the influence of wildlife and nature.
